Southeastern Jurisdictional Agency for Native American Ministries

Mission

The mission of the Southeastern Jurisdictional Agency for Native American Ministries (SEJANAM) Inc. is to help: establish, train and service effective Annual Conference Committee on Native American Ministry; identify and engage Native Americans in dialogue with the leadership of the fifteen SEJ Annual Conferences; strengthen and create congregational and social ministries; enlist, equip and deploy lay youth, adult and clergy leadership; enable Native American communications and community across the SEJ for solidarity, evangelism, service and justice ministry; network Native American human, spiritual and fiscal resources to the whole Church and visa versa; advocate for increased awareness of and appreciation for Native American presence, history, traditions and spiritually; advocate for greater inclusion of Native Americans in the mission and administration of the SEJ Conference and the member Annual Conferences, promote and resource Native American Awareness Sunday; and to help proclaim and model all of the good news of SEJ Native American ministry for the whole Church.

Living Out Our Mission

· Create Awareness of and dialogue with Native Americans in each Annual Conference

· Create new congregational and social ministries, strengthen existing ministries

· Help empower and train Conference Committees on Native American Awareness Sunday and Ministry for effective   ministry

· Help with strengthening existing ministries

· Challenge the whole church to always be sensitive and inclusive in mission and administration

· Provide opportunities for Native Americans to be in communities across the southeast for solidarity, evangelism, service and justice ministries

· Share leadership, cultural, spiritual and service gifts and graces for the growth and mission of the whole church.
